Todo se inicia cuando el ya eliminado Ash, se halla deprimido junto a su inseparable Pikachu, tratando de asimilar la derrota sufrida. Mientras tanto en la sala, los demás se encuentran preocupados de por qué Ash no ha salido de su cuarto. Preocupada por la posible depresión de su amigo, Misty se dirige a su cuarto para tratar de animarlo, pero se ve rechazada ante un desanimado Ash que intenta por todos los medios de seguir con sus lamentos.
