Ash, Misty y Brock están en un barco rumbo a la isla Canela y mientras comentaban las atracciones de la isla se sorprendieron al ver a Gary hablar de forma burlona de Ash al decirle perdedor y luego despistado al pensar que todos los pasajeros del barco eran entrenadores cuando de verdad eran turistas y Gary le dijo que no había gimnasio ya que la Isla Canela es una atracción turística y que viajó a perder tiempo pero Ash no le creyó.
