El episodio comienza con Ash durmiendo en la habitación de su casa de Pueblo Paleta soñando con llegar a la Liga Pokémon, hasta que es despertado por Mr. Mime quien estaba limpiando. Luego baja a la cocina y allí están su madre, Misty y Brock, Ash y Misty se ponen a discutir, y a continuación Brock dice que deberían de comer ya para ir a preguntarle al Profesor Oak donde queda la Liga Pokémon.
