Disfrutando de un bonito día, Ash y Brock se dirigen caminando hacia su próximo destino, ciudad Celeste. Misty, por alguna extraña razón, intenta evitar que visiten dicho lugar; contando primero que allí viven horribles fantasmas que parecen monstruos, y después, que ciudad Carmín sería un mejor destino adonde ir. Sin embargo, esto no convence en absoluto a Ash, quien está dispuesto a derrotar al líder de gimnasio de esa ciudad y ganar su medalla.
