Después de dos semanas perdidos, Ash, Misty y Brock llegan por fin a Ciudad Carmín. Contentos e ilusionados, se proponen hacer diversas cosas: Misty darse un buen baño de burbujas, Brock irse a la lavandería y Ash buscar el Gimnasio Pokémon de la ciudad. Sin embargo, Pikachu de ash no está en condiciones ni de caminar: se encuentra demasiado cansado y hambriento, y no sólo él, sino todo el grupo.
