El episodio comienza cuando Brock y Misty corren para alcanzar a un emocionado Ash, al alcanzarlo y encontrarse con un lago, vieron a un pequeño Dratini el cual estaba tomando una siesta, cuando se disponían a acercarse un Gyarados apareció del lago y les atacó. Para tranquilizar a Gyarados, una extraña chica apareció y al presentarse ante los chicos dijo que su nombre era Débora.
