Ash, Misty y Brock se dirigen a las islas Remolino en un barco; Ash piensa en batallar y Misty en ver más Pokémon de agua hasta que todos ven un grupo de remolinos. Aparece el Team/Equipo Rocket disfrazados de meseros que intentan engañarlos para robar sus Pokémon pero son descubiertos y luchan contra ellos. Nuestros héroes caen al agua, mientras que el Equipo Rocket sale volando, así que intentan nadar con la ayuda de Goldeen, Poliwhirl y Totodile pero los remolinos los arrastran, de repente la corriente cambia gracias a un Pokémon misterioso.
