El episodio comienza con un repaso de lo sucedido anteriormente. Mientras el Equipo Rocket planea ir a Ciudad Cedro para abordar un helicóptero y llevarse al Gyarados rojo para analizarlo; Lance se detiene y le informa a la Oficial Jenny de lo que planean hacer. Por otra parte Ash y sus amigos son prisioneros hasta que el Equipo Rocket aparece y aprovechando que Pikachu esta débil por la onda de inducción deciden robarlo pero terminan liberando a nuestros héroes; en eso aparece Lance y los manda a volar con el poderoso Torbellino de su Dragonite.
