Ash, Misty y Brock se dirigen hacia la ciudad Bluefinland en un tranvías, pero se equivocaron de camino y terminan en la Laguna Azul. Mientras decidían que hacer, aparece un Chinchou. A Misty le parece precioso así que decide atraparlo, pero cuando le lanza la Poké Ball no entra en ella. En ese momento aparece el entrenador diciendo que no lo capturaran, y les pide ayuda para poder atrapar a su Chinchou. Ash intenta atraparlo, pero este lo ataca con su ataque Chispa.
