Ash, Misty y Brock continúan su viaje a ciudad Cedro, mientras el Equipo Rocket cava un hoyo para atraparlos pero al ver que la trampa no funcionaba, ellos aparecen y tratan de ver que sucede; James pisa fuertemente y todos caen. El grupo y el Equipo Rocket caen en una especie de túnel subterráneo donde ven una chica que corre apurada y la siguen; mientras siguen a la chica de nombre Calista, ven 3 Xatu sobre unas rocas y Jessie y Misty tratan de saber su suerte pero los Xatu no responden ya que, según Calista, están constantemente en trance porque están viendo el pasado y el futuro al mismo tiempo.
