El episodio comienza con un repaso de lo visto anteriormente donde Ash y sus amigos se reencuentran con Ritchie quien también buscaba al Pokémon misterioso, quien resultó ser un Lugia junto con su cría que fue capturada por el Equipo Rocket. En la Base del Team/Equipo Rocket se encuentra el Lugia bebé quien está triste por estar en la jaula, mientras el Team/Equipo Rocket está planeando un plan para capturar al padre de Lugia.
