Ash, Misty y Tracey estaban montados en el Lapras que Ash capturó y que servía como transporte de los tres en las Islas Naranja, Pikachu casi cae al agua y Ash lo rescata; entonces él quería comer y Tracey le aconseja ir a la Isla Mikan y le dice que allí hay un gimnasio y parten hacia allá, pero no saben que el Team/Equipo Rocket estaba detrás de ellos en un submarino con forma de Magikarp pero la lenta velocidad del pedaleo de James y Meowth hace que el submarino se hunda y queden enredados con algas marinas.
