Ash y sus amigos viajan tranquilamente sobre Lapras cuando un barco casi los derriba. Ese barco era de un entrenador llamado Tad, que reta a Ash a una batalla ya que supo que él ganó en el Gimnasio de Isla Trovita, lo cual Ash acepta. En eso se dirigen a la Isla Cleopatra para tener su batalla, sin saber que allí se encontraba el Team/Equipo Rocket.
