Ash, Misty y Tracey llegan a la Isla Kumquat, un destino turístico del Archipiélago Naranja y la sede del último gimnasio de la Liga Naranja; en tierra firme se ven a varios anunciantes promocionando sus hoteles en la ciudad, en eso una señora ve a Ash y lo persigue corriendo hasta abrazarlo fuertemente pensando que se trataba de su hijo, Ash le dice que no la conoce y le aclara su identidad, entonces ella se disculpa y le explica que se llama Luana y que lo confundió con su hijo Travis, con el cual comparte un gran parecido y que también inició su viaje como entrenador Pokémon con un Pikachu.
