Este capitulo comienza con un payaso, junto con un Chansey y un Mr. Mime que están promocionando el Espectáculo Pokémon en la entrada del teatro flotante donde los Pokémon pueden hablar como personas. Ash, Misty y Tracey van caminando por afuera del teatro, y escuchan al payaso. Ash dice que suena divertido (a lo que Pikachu asiente), mientras que Tracey dice que ha escuchado sobre estos barcos, pero nunca había entrado a uno de ellos, y a Misty se le ocurre la idea de ir.
