Después de que Ash se enfrentara a la maestra Pokémon Prima, nuestros héroes siguen su viaje por la Isla Mandarin Sur y llegan a un pequeño poblado donde sorpresivamente encuentran a una muchacha, Emily que va gritando María (su Nidoran♀), en eso le pregunta a Ash, Misty y Tracey si la han visto ya que había desaparecido. Después Ash saca su Pokédex donde aparece un Nidoran♂ diciendo que ese no es, luego la describe y aparece en la Pokédex.
