Luego de un largo camino por un desierto; Ash, Misty y Brock van corriendo al pico de un cerro y ven que llegaron a la Ciudad Olivine y de ahí todos van rumbo al gimnasio. En tanto el Team/Equipo Rocket llegó en tachos de basura a la ciudad y ven un edificio enorme de cristal a la cual deciden ir pensando que iban a ganar la fama que tanto deseaban pero al llegar a aquel edificio les pidieron medallas pero James les presentó su colección de corcholatas a los vigilantes, igualmente no los dejaron entrar y les dijeron que era la torre de las batallas y que sólo pueden entrar aquellos que tuvieran medallas, por eso se decepcionaron y se fueron.
