Nuestros héroes Ash, Misty y Brock descansan en las orillas de un río en su camino hacia Ciudad Ecruteak, cuando Ash y Pikachu ven pasar a un Snubbull con listones rojos al otro lado del río, suponiendo que es el Pokémon de Madame Muchaplata/Ricachona. Mientras tanto, el Equipo Rocket pasea hambriento por el bosque, hasta que Meowth pega un fuerte grito debido a que Snubbull le había mordido su cola. Seguidamente Meowth lo manda lejos sacudiendo su cola.
