De camino a Ciudad Olivo, Ash y sus amigos llegan a una "ciudad sin nombre". Ven unas chicas gritando corriendo por la calle, y Brock las persigue; Ash y Misty lo siguen. Mientras corrían detrás de las chicas aparece un hombre que les entrega una extraña Bola Amarilla pidiendoles que la cuiden, entonces Ash acepta.
