El episodio comienza cuando Ash y compañía llegaron al gimnasio de ciudad Mauville/Malvalona para que Ash dispute su tercera medalla en el torneo. Ash entra al gimnasio con sus amigos pero la puerta se convierte en una alfombra eléctrica y arrancan hacia rumbo desconocido con una velocidad parecida a la montaña rusa. Max y Brock piensan que esto es divertido pero May/Aura dice que no lo es tanto.
