El episodio comienza con un niño llamado Thatcher en un faro limpiando la roca luz cuando de repente aparece el Equipo Rocket y se la arrebata, en eso aparece su hermana Alyssa y él le dice lo que le pasó. Ash y sus amigos estaban en su camino hacia ciudad Mauville, pero hacia demasiada niebla y se detuvieron. El Equipo Rocket estaba cerca de Ash y sus amigos y ellos y Ash comenzaron a hablar y se dieron cuenta de que se estaban escuchando el uno al otro.
