Olivier Armstrong llega a Central y tiene una conversación con King Bradley, quien la acepta para formar parte de su ejército inmortal. Se cuenta la historia de Hohenheim y su compañero del frasco, el primer homúnculo, quien nació de la sangre de Hohenheim y fue su maestro durante toda su juventud. El rey de Xerxes quería hacerse inmortal y aconsejó al ser del frasco, quién le dijo que para hacerse inmortal debía hacer un cana de agua alrededor del país y usar la alquimia. Al realizarse la transmutación en Xerxes el homúnculo utilizó información genética de Hohenheim para convertirse en un ser idéntico, y luego dividió la cantidad de almas sacrificadas entre los dos, convirtiéndolos en piedras filosofales.
