Cuando llegan a Resembool, Edward y Armstrong se encuentran con el teniente Segundo Breda y con Fu. Los llevan a las ruinas de Xexes. Ahí descubren que Ross aún está viva. Mustang falsificó su muerte para protegerla de que la ejecutaran. Ling les cuenta a Al y Winry lo mismo. Luego Ross decide esconderse a Xing, pero promete regresar si la necesitan. Se marcha con Fu, quién le hará de guía. Ed explora las ruinas, y aparecen un grupo de Ishbalianos refugiados. Ed descubre que Scar mató a los padres de Winry. Mientras, en Central, el cuerpo de Barry, quien ahora no es más que un animal salvaje, ataca a Barry y a Falman. Pero con Havoc y la ayuda de Hawkeye, el cuerpo se escapa. Luego Gluttony ataca a Hawkeye. Ella dispara al homúnculo y se sorprende al ver como sus heridas se curan en un instante.
