Hitsugaya y Matsumoto entran al central 46 y encuentran a todos los integrantes muertos. Izuru Kira aparece, Hitsugaya y Matsumoto van detrás de él pero Hitsugaya se vuelve al enterarse que Hinamori iba a morir también en el central 46. Ichimaru lleva a Hinamori hasta donde esta Aizen, quien había fingido su muerte con una técnica de ilusión. Aizen atraviesa a Hinamori con su espada. Hitsugaya alcanza a llegar un poco después y al ver a Hinamori gravemente herida, libera su bankai para atacar a Aizen. Sin embargo, es derrotado fácilmente por Aizen. En este momento llega Retsu Unohana con su teniente Isane Kotetsu. Aizen le cuenta lo que ha sucedido y cómo fue que engañó a todos los capitanes. Por último, Aizen revela que Kaname Tosen también fue su cómplice junto con Ichimaru.
