Este capítulo comienza con Ash y sus amigos que van en camino a Ciudad Malva, ellos van a cruzar un puente, lo que no saben es que el Team/Equipo Rocket está planeando una trampa para obtener a Pikachu. Ellos empiezan a saltar de felicidad porque es una trampa muy simple pero a causa del peso que generaban se rompió el puente y cayeron al río. En eso llegan Ash y sus amigos y ven que el puente está roto, en eso llega una chica cuyo nombre es Arielle y viene volando con sus Ledyba (de los cuales no provocan ningún temor en Misty por considerarlos lindo).
